Back in 2023, my dad mentioned that he and my mom, both 65 and usually cautious about spending online, had joined a WhatsApp spoken-English class. I was shocked. Then I saw what they were paying for: they’d send a 2–3 minute voice note every day, and a tutor would reply within 24 hours.
